Rodriguez calls for the right to a healthy environment to be included in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.
Soraya Rodríguez, MEP from Renew Europe group, asks the plenary of the European Parliament to include the right to a healthy environment at international level and therefore also in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. Rodriguez also calls for the development of a legal framework on climate justice and to offer ambitious leadership at summits such as COP26 and COP15, for the European Commission to assess annually the external dimension of the European Green Deal. The MEP recalls the figure of Berta Cáceres, a Honduran climate activist shot dead in her home. Lastly, she also called for ecocide to be considered an international crime.
