We analysed the vote on the Nature Restoration Law, which aims to rehabilitate damaged ecosystems.
This week we were accompanied from the Strasbourg Parliament César Luena, MEP of the Group of Socialists and Democrats, and Soraya Rodríguez, MEP of the Renew Europe Group.
The Nature Restoration Law was finally passed this week, albeit by a narrow margin: 336 MEPs voted in favour, 300 against and 13 abstained.
Our guests discussed the importance of this vote. The standard sets binding targets in seven policy areas, such as arable land, peatlands, pollinators and seabeds, in order to reverse environmental damage caused by uncontrolled human activity and climate change.
