Soraya Rodríguez on the disaster on the Galician coasts in #eplenary

Rodriguez criticises the political battle over pollution caused by a pellet spill and calls for regulation on these plastics.

Soraya Rodriguez, MEP from Renew Europe group, calls for the inclusion of maritime transport in the regulation proposed by the Commission, as well as indications for the entire production process of these plastics. In addition, she also calls for the establishment of an accident action protocol requiring Member States to take measures to deal with any environmental pollution. Rodríguez criticises the action of the central and regional governments, which have not reacted since the discharge occurred a month before this intervention by the MEP. Rodriguez points out that the Galician elections, the region where the disaster has occurred, will pass, but the pollution of pellets will remain in our seas and coasts for years.
