Soraya Rodriguez on negotiating the directive on gender-based violence and the ‘Solo sí es sí’ law (FEMM)

Rodríguez asks the Spanish equality minister about her negotiating position on the directive on gender-based violence during the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU and the possible compensations for the damages of the law of ‘Only Yes’

Soraya Rodríguez, a member of the Renew Europe group, asked the Spanish Minister of Equality about her position during the negotiations on the directive against gender-based violence, which coincides with the Spanish presidency of the Council of the EU. He also enquired about the possibility that the Spanish Government could offer compensation for those victims affected by the reduction of penalties under the ‘Solo Yes Yes’ Act.

Rodriguez also calls for gender-based violence to be included as a Eurocrime, something Úrsula Von der Leyen committed to.
