Soraya Rodríguez calls on the EU to take a firm stand against China against human organ trafficking

“To end impunity in China, we must put an end to this crime that brings with it a demand from third countries,” she denounced.

Soraya Rodríguez, MEP for Ciudadanos and spokesperson for Human Rights in the European Parliament, has demanded that the EU stand firm with China to put an end to the trafficking of human organs and impose sanctions if the country does not finish with this atrocious practice: the removal of organs from political prisoners for sale. This business is worth more than a billion euros a year.

Soraya Rodríguez pointed out that it is also essential to stop the demand for these organs. “To put an end to impunity in China, it is necessary to finish with this crime, which leads to demand from third countries. Especially in the Gulf region, where China has created a market for halal organs from Uighurs and Muslim minorities”, she denounced.
