
The Critical Role of Parliamentarians to End Inequalities for Ending AIDS, Stopping COVID-19 and Preparing for Future Pandemics
An online parliamentary session organized by UNAIDS, in collaboration with the European Parliament (EP), the Pan African Parliament (PAP), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and UNITE, will be convened on 09 February 2022 ahead of the European Union-African Union Summit. The purpose of the side event is to discuss the critical role of parliamentarians to end inequalities for ending AIDS, stopping COVID-19 and Preparing for Future Pandemics.
The session will bring together African and European parliamentarians to discuss and highlight the important role parliamentarians are playing in ending AIDS, stopping COVID-19 and preparing for future pandemics. In addition, the side event will discuss the impact of COVID-19 and how lessons learned from the HIV epidemic can be applied to future pandemic preparedness and response.
